a happy birthday and the canvas collage.

For those who don't know, I am NOT by ANY means crafty. Although, every year when Emily's birthday comes around, my crafty instincts kick in or something because I always end up making her something for her present. Last year, I made her a deck of cards that took hours and hours but it was all worth it in the end! This year was no different.

Since she was redoing her room, I wanted to make her something to put in there but didn't know what to do...a painting? No. I cannot paint to save my life.

So then I made this. The idea started when I made modge podge wooden picture blocks with my cousin last year. When I thought about the fact that you can't hang a flat wooden board onto a wall, I decided to do the same process but on a canvas instead. And it worked!
